Why do we have Bullies?
Bullies often bully because they are jealous and
envious of others. They may be jealous of
your relationships with others, for being popular, your ability to make friends
or because you have a loving family.
Some reasons why people behave in such an abysmal manner:
1) The Bully Has Been Bullied Before;
2) The Bully Is Lonely;
3) The Bully Has Problems At Home;
4) The Bully Has Low Self-Esteem;
5) The Bully Is Jealous;
6) The Bully Is Part of a Pack;
7) The Bully Has a Big Ego;
8) The Bully Likes To Impress;
9) The Bully Sees You as Being Different;
Aggression can either take the forms of violence
or emotional abuse. Are bullies saying,
“Give me my way or face my behavior”. They usually control others through verbal abuse
and insults and by making people feel small.
They're very negative, critical people.
The threat is always in the background that they're going to break
something or call somebody names or hit someone if they are disagreed
with. Realize that the behaviour doesn't
start when someone is in their teens—it usually begins when a child is five or
six. Bullies use aggression, and some use violence and verbal
abuse, to supplant those skills. So in effect, they don't have to learn problem
solving, because they just threaten others at work or in the classroom.
They don't have to learn how to work things out because they just push their work or class mates. They don't have to learn how to get along with other people—they just seek to control them. There are many professional bodies that can help if your are being bullied. Seek help, do not push your head into the sand
