Leaves Healing Nations

Revelation 22:1-2
And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of Yahuwah and of the Lamb.  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

All streams of earthly comfort are muddy, but these are clear and refreshing. They give life and preserve life, to those who drink of them, and thus they will flow for evermore.  These point to the quickening and sanctifying influences of the Holy Spirit, as given to sinners through Yeshua Hamashiach.  The Holy Spirit, proceeding from the Father and the Son, applies this salvation to our souls by his new-creating love and power.

The trees of life are fed by the pure waters of the river that comes from the throne of Yahuwah.  The presence of Yahuwah in heaven is the health and happiness of the anointed.

This tree was an emblem of Yeshua Hamashiach, and of all the blessings of his salvation, and the leaves for the healing of the nations, mean that his favour and presence supply all good to the inhabitants of that blessed world.  The devil has no power there, he cannot draw the anointed from serving Yahuwah, nor can he disturb them in the service of Yahuwah.  Yahuwah and the Lamb are here spoken of as one.  Service there shall be not only freedom but honour and dominion. There will be no night, no affliction or dejection, no pause in service or enjoyment, no diversions or pleasures or man's inventing will there be wanted.  How different all this from gross and merely human views of heavenly happiness, even those which refer to pleasures of the mind!  No prohibition of cannabis is made in the Ten Commandments.  (Exodus 20:1-17)

Cannabis is mentioned in Exodus 30:23 but King James mistranslated it as 'sweet calamus'.  Moreover, Yahuwah spake unto Moses, saying, take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even 250 shekels, and of qaneh-bosm [cannabis] 250 shekels.

And of cassia 500 shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive a hin.   And thou shalt make it an oil of holy anointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary, it shall be a holy anointing oil.

And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony, And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense, And the altar of burnt offerings with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot. And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy, whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.   (Exodus 30:22-29)

And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind and Yahuwah saw that it was good.
(Genesis 1:12)

The hemp plant (scientific name: cannabis, slang: marijuana) is one of the many useful herbs "yielding seed after its kind" created and blessed by Yahuwah on the third day of creation, "and Yahuwah saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:12) He gave hemp for people to use with our free will.

Yahuwah said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.  To you, it will be for meat."  And Yahuwah saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.  (Genesis 1:29-31)

And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.  (Ezekiel 34:29)

The whole nation was Yahuwah's flock, yet they were very different characters, but he knew how to distinguish between them.  By good pastures and deep waters, are meant the pure word of Yahuwah and the dispensing of justice.  Under Yeshua Hamashiach, as the good Shepherd, the congregation would be a blessing to all around. Yeshua Hamashiach, though excellent in himself, was as a tender plant out of a dry ground.

Being the Tree of life, bearing all the fruits of salvation, he yields spiritual food to the souls of his people.  Our constant desire and prayer should be, that there may be showers of blessings in every place where the truth of Yeshua Hamashiach is preached and that all who profess the gospel may be filled with fruits of righteousness.  The Bible predicts some herb's prohibition. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall speak lies in hypocrisy, commanding to abstain from meats which Yahuwah hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.  (1 Timothy 4:1-3)  The Bible speaks of a special plant. "I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more."     (Ezekiel 34:29)

A healing plant.  On either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare 12 manner of fruits, and yielding her fruit every month, and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, a gift from Yahuwah.

The earth was emptiness, but by a word spoken, it became full of Yahuwah's riches, and his they are still. Though the use of them is allowed to man, they are from Yahuwah, and to his service and honour, they must be used. The earth, at his command, brings forth grass, herbs, and fruits. Yahuwah must have the glory of all the benefits we receive from the produce of the earth. If we have, through grace, an interest in Him who is the Fountain, we may rejoice in him when the streams of temporal mercies are dried up.  Cannabis is believed to be beneficially used as a treatment for cancer-related diseases.
