What Yahuwah Requires

Micah 6:8
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Yahuwah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy Elohim?

This scripture contains the substance of Balak's consultation with Balaam on how to obtain the favour of Israel's Elohim.   A deep conviction of guilt and wrath will put men upon careful inquiries after peace and pardon, and then there begins to be some tangible grounds for hope.  In order for Yahuwah to be pleased with us, our care must be for an interest in the atonement value of Yeshua Hamashiach's sacrifice, and that the sin by which we displease Yahuwah may be taken completely  away.

How can we  satisfy Yahuwah's justice, in whose name must we come, as we have nothing to plead  of our own?  It is with total righteousness we should seek to appear before Yahuwah.  The proposals betray ignorance of Yahuwah's very essence, though there appears to be a show of zeal.  They offer that which is very rich and costly.  Those who are fully convinced of their own sinfulness, and of their heart felt misery and danger by reason of it, would give all the world, to obtain Yahuwah's peace and pardon.

Yet they do not offer aright. The sacrifices had a value from their reference to Yeshua Hamashiach was impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away their sinful inclinations.   As a result, all proposals for peace, except those according to the gospel, are absurd.  Without Yahuwah's loving assistance we could never fully meet the demands of Divine justice, nor satisfy the wrong we often do to honour Yahuwah, nor would we serve at all with holiness of our heart and reformation of the life Yahuwah has set before us.

Nonspiritual men will part with anything rather than their sins, but spiritual men view this requirement as parting with nothing so as to be accepted of Yahuwah understanding that unless they do part with their sins they gain nothing.  Moral duties are commanded and are essential spiritual training for faithful men.

In keeping Yahuwah's commandments there is a great reward, as well as keeping them.  Yahuwah has not only made it known but made it plain by having them recorded in his word.  The good which Yahuwah requires of us is, not the paying a price for the pardon of sin and acceptance with Yahuwah, but love to himself and what is there unreasonable, or hard, in this?   Every thought within us must be brought down, to be brought into obedience to Yahuwah, if we would walk comfortably with him.  We must do this as penitent sinners, in dependence on the Redeemer and his atonement.  Blessed be Yahuwah that he is ever ready to give his grace to the humble, waiting penitent.
